IG 100 spark gap is used to equalize potential in lightning protection. It is used in the protection of devices in the vicinity of the lightning protection system, e.g. antennas that cannot be earthed under normal operating conditions. Installing the IG 100 spark gap ensures an insulation gap between the device and the ground. In the event of a lightning discharge, there is a short circuit inside the spark gap that allows the lightning current to flow to earth. It is designed for outdoor installation.
